Hexa League (U10 Girls and Coed )
The Hexa League is a developmental program set up for children in the third and fourth grades.
Players practice 2 days a week at Monocacy Elementary School and play games on Saturdays at Ballenger Creek Park.
The Hexa League uses the 6-a-side format (5 field players and a goalkeeper) recommended by U.S.Youth Soccer for U9/U10 players. Teams play 50 minute games (2x25 minute halves) on fields that are approximately 35 x 55 yards.
The Hexa League uses a single site for all games and consistent time slots to make family schedules easier to manage.
No scores or standings are published for this league.
A Size 4 Soccer Ball is used for this age group.
The Hexa League is the only MSYSA sanctioned league for U10 players following the U.S Youth Soccer recommended 6-a-side format deemed the most appropriate for player development.
Hexa League format vs 7v7
* Players touch the ball more often and become more skillful
* Game is less complicated and easier to understand
* More exposure to attacking and defending situations
* Players have more opportunity to score goals
* Reduced field size matches 9U physical development
For the safety of the players, Parents/Guardians of players are REQUIRED to remain at the soccer fields with their child during each practice and game.
We are always looking for volunteer coaches. If you would like to be a coach or an assistant coach, please complete the volunteer registration form here.
